Welcome back readers!
Many people believe that we’re either born tough or weak, and our circumstances dictate how we turn out. I am a firm believer that we can all learn to be resilient, and our ability to bounce back is not based on our genetics or even our life experience.
The most powerful, effective managers and leaders are those who step up to a challenge and face it with flexibility, courage, and the ability to inspire others to follow them into the unknown. They may not know how strong they are before they are tested, but they have confidence in their ability to prevail. They are able to activate that profound human ability—the ability to bounce back from change and challenge.
It certainly isn’t always easy and at times staying positive may seem next to impossible; you’re allowed to feel frustration and disappointment just don't let them govern you or your actions. Remind yourself that the tough times will undoubtedly pass, and that if you stay positive that will affect those around you and create an environment in which everyone can succeed. Life won’t always be easy and smooth and neither will work, so practice positivity, resilience, and remember to breathe!
Three Tips During a Challenging Time:
Step One - Breathe! In only 60 seconds you can re-set your autonomic nervous system.
Step Two - Tap into your support network. People make all the difference!
Step Three - Remember this too shall pass. Have something that inspires you on hand - hang a painting in your office, post a quote on your computer, find something that helps you remember what's good, what's working, what's positive, and what's possible.
